It is with sadness that we announce that Exec Chef Ben Handley has flown the nest to open his own restaurant with his family in Devon - we all wish him the best of luck. Ben has been with us (first at the Cavendish as an apprentice then at the George as Head Chef, then Exec over both kitchens) since he was 16 years old. (he is now 37) and will be missed by all his friends and colleagues.

Helen Heywood who was appointed Head Chef at the George in 2005 having joined the Cavendish in 2000. She worked closely with Ben in those years and is naturally keen to carry on with the style and enthusiasm which has proved such a winning formula for the George in the past.

The design hopefully complements the age of the George, but with a contemporary feel and still retaining the essentail cosy atmosphere for which the George is well known.
