Excellent hotel, the breakfast (costly) but it was worth enjoying the experience! Very clean, lovely decor, great food and staff very helpful. We would certainly stay again.

I just thought that I would drop you a note to say thank you for the way that the George looked after my party yesterday. The day and night was a fantastic success and Mr Buckly, who was the retiring Manager, said how much the hotel had enhanced his enjoyment of the day. The food was excellent, please thank Chef, everyone complimented the food. The rooms and the service were first class.

We stayed with you in early July, in room 7, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Your hotel is very comfortable and the staff were all exceedingly helpful and polite. On checking out I managed to leave the power supply for my digital radio in the room and your staff were kind enough to locate it and post it back to me for which I am very grateful. A big thank you to those responsible. I would certainly recommend your hotel to my friends and colleagues

Hathersage is a beautiful place and the George Hotel offers a matching standard of accommodation. The service from the reception staff was excellent, they organised some flowers with a note for the room and even laminated the note ! The breakfast spread was one of the best I've ever known and the quality superb. Try the local kippers. We tried the restaurant and this was of equal quality although the menu was not totally overwhelming, but that's a personal preference. If I could change one thing, I'd request a duvet instead of sheets on the bed, but it wouldn't stop me staying there again. I'd also note that I'm a fussy bugger so it must have been impressive!

Would you please pass on my thanks and appreciation for the wonderful Sunday lunch your staff provided for my husband's 60th birthday. All the family appreciated the efforts made by the chef and staff to accommodate the grandchildren's starters for the Sunday lunch. Everyone really enjoyed the meal. You could see that from the empty plates! The birthday cake was really good too. Many thanks once again to everyone concerned.

Very efficient staff, clean comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. We could clearly hear the people in the next room talking. We only stayed two nights so we couldn't form too much of an opinion but the stay we had was very pleasurable. The room was comfortable and very clean with lots of facilities. We had the cooked breakfast which was excellent and kept us going during our long walks. The staff were very helpful and didnt keep us waiting at all. Thankyou for a lovely break.

Very clean bathroom & bedroom. Very comfortable. Good breakfast. staff very courteous and helpful. Room faced a busy road. Early morning traffic noise disturbed me. If I go again I will request a room at the rear. Dinner menu a bit expensive.

I wanted to write to thank all your staff for making our dinner party last Friday evening such a success. We had a wonderful time, the food was fantastic, the service exceptional and the surroundings excellent. I would especially like to mention Kathryn for making the arrangements, Richard for his IT skills with the projector(!), the Chef for such excellent food and most of all Alice, who looked after us superbly well all evening.
